Transcript Search Methodology and Limitations

The site separates transcript retrieval from AI-generated interpretation so users can understand what each result represents.

Episode data

Episode numbers, guest names, descriptions, and transcript text are collected from publicly available podcast metadata and caption or transcript sources. Coverage is updated periodically and may contain gaps or transcription errors.

Search and AI answers

Content discovery combines literal matches from MySQL with related passages from the GCP semantic index. Quoted phrases stay exact. Semantic passages are checked against current source transcripts and may not cover every relevant episode. When conversational routing is enabled, TypeSafe Jev interprets the question and context, while application code controls retrieval, episode choices, transcript analysis and broader discussion. Episode analysis reads the selected transcripts; general discussion can use knowledge beyond the podcast.

Important limitations

  • Transcripts may mishear names, punctuation, or specialist terms.
  • Generated summaries and answers can omit context or make mistakes.
  • Timestamps are navigation aids and may be approximate.
  • Verify consequential claims against the original episode and authoritative sources.
